Terms & Conditions

The terms on which we quote for and carry out work.

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to work carried out by Barbers Bathroom & Kitchens of Creswell, Derbyshire for domestic customers. They form part of any accepted quotation. If anything in your written quotation conflicts with these terms, the quotation takes precedence.

2. Quotations

  • Quotations are free, carry no obligation, and are given in writing following a home visit. We do not quote from photographs alone.
  • A quotation sets out the scope of works, what is included and what is excluded. Anything not listed as included is not included.
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, after which material prices may need reviewing.
  • Where a fixed price is given, that price does not change unless the scope of works changes (see section 3).

3. Variations and unforeseen work

Renovation work sometimes uncovers conditions that could not reasonably be seen at survey — failed pipework inside a wall, rot beneath a floor, unsafe existing wiring, or structural issues concealed by finishes.

  • If we find something of this kind, we will stop, tell you what we have found, and price the additional work before carrying it out.
  • No additional work is carried out or charged for without your agreement.
  • If you ask for changes to the specification during the job, these will be priced and agreed in the same way.

4. Payment

Payment terms are set out in your written quotation, including any deposit required and the schedule of payments. We accept bank transfer, cash and card. Final payment falls due on completion, after the handover walk-through.

  • Deposits, where required, cover materials ordered specifically for your project.
  • We do not ask for payment in full before work begins.
  • Invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice.

5. Materials supplied by you

  • We are happy to fit sanitaryware, kitchens, tiles and fittings you have bought yourself.
  • We are not responsible for the suitability, quality or availability of items you supply, or for delays caused by items arriving late, damaged or incorrect.
  • We will check a specification before you order if you ask us to. It costs nothing and prevents most of the problems in this area.
  • Where an item you have supplied cannot be fitted safely or to a proper standard, we will tell you before proceeding.

6. Access, timescales and your property

  • Timescales given in a quotation are realistic estimates based on the scope agreed. Variations, supply delays and unforeseen conditions can affect them, and we will keep you informed.
  • We need reasonable access to the working area, to water and electricity, and to parking near the property where possible.
  • We protect floors and access routes and clear the site at the end of each working day.
  • Where you supply keys or access codes, they are held securely and returned on completion.

7. Building regulations and certification

  • We will tell you at quotation stage which elements of your project are notifiable under building regulations.
  • Notifiable electrical and gas work is carried out or certified by an appropriately registered tradesperson.
  • Where consent from your local authority is required, obtaining it is the property owner's responsibility, though we will advise on what is needed.

8. Workmanship and guarantee

  • All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill and to current standards.
  • Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. If something we installed fails because of how it was fitted, we will return and put it right at no cost.
  • Manufacturer warranties on products apply separately and for their own periods.
  • The guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, damage, misuse, work altered by others, or failure of items supplied by you.

9. Cancellation

  • Where a contract is agreed at your home, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
  • If you ask us to start within that 14-day period and then cancel, we may charge for work already carried out and for materials ordered specifically for your project.
  • To cancel, tell us in writing at sales@barbersprojects.co.uk.

10. Insurance and liability

  • We hold public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
  • Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these terms.

11. Complaints

If something is not right, tell us first and give us the chance to fix it — call 07811 466054 or email sales@barbersprojects.co.uk. We will respond within five working days and agree a plan to resolve it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
